If you are looking for dark plot twists and steaming love scenes you won't find them here.Instead, you will find a story of a young sailor who vows to avenge the death of his mother's family at the hands of the Spanish "Blood Council." The character ends up fighting with the Prince of Orange during the fight for Dutch independence, and the story follows him through his various adventures.
It's very well researched and is a good way to gain some heavy historical knowledge through light reading.

this book is about the Spanish Inquisition, and they got lots of the
history wrong, especially the part dealing with the Catholic Church.
I was HUGELY disappointed with this book, especially since I was looking forward to learning about The Dutch Republic in a lively, entertaining historical novel format. I know the guy wrote LOTS of books similar to this one and thought I had discovered a treasure trove of historical fiction regarding topics that were obscure and hard to find. I found this book poorly written, superficial and confusing. As a result, my interest and excitment of this discovery was deflated! I didn't learn much, except that most of the time, you DO get what you pay for.
Very good, gives s good history of the reformation and is a good book to add to your G.A.Henry collection
This is one of the most exciting G. A. Henry books I've read! It portrays the life of a brave young lad as he becomes quite a hero by displaying his courage both in his private life and out in battle alongside the Prince of Orange. I highly recommend this book that's full of great history to any enthusiastic reader. ☺
