Holes in Space A poetry collection Andrea Barbosa Antonio Rezzonico Cid Bonifacio Pitti Andrade Books
By its nature, poetry is often very intimate. The author has grouped her poetry into classifications in this gem of a small volume of 48 pages. The first grouping contains poetry of a personal nature, sensual and feminine. Another section reveals the genuine affection the author has to her cities of the heart, Rio de Janeiro and Houston. A third pays tribute to two public figures. The last is a collection of reflections on "the dark." The poetry of this latter section tells stories that, with each re-reading, one can discover new layers. Interspersed among the poems are beautiful photographs that I wish I could see enlarged.I bought the e-book version. It looks fine, but I suspect that this collection rests best in paper on a desk where the reader can retrieve it from time to time to escape the distractions of a frenetic world. I like the book's title very much. It goes well with Andrea Barbosa's novel, Massive Black Hole.

Holes in Space A poetry collection Andrea Barbosa Antonio Rezzonico Cid Bonifacio Pitti Andrade Books Reviews
What a beautiful collection of poems. They are about people, Christ, places, seduction, love and ordinary everyday things in our lives. Each poem is thoughtfully written and you can tell while reading that every word comes from the heart. This is one of the best poetry books I have read. Absolutely enchanted and I highly recommend it.
Holes in Space is a very joy to read. I have a few favorites from this collection, but my absolute favorite is the passion poems.
There's a large variety of topics inside this book. You will definitely find several that you enjoy re-reading.
I think poetry lovers will love this nice collection.
Another reviewer used the term, lyrical, to describe Holes in Space is a collection of poems by author Andrea Barbosa; I could not agree more.
This is poetry that’s a joy to read and easy to understand.
Expect to feel emotions as you read Holes in Space for the words will touch you. Marathon man especially touched my heart. It was a story I’d not known, and Andrea Barbosa conveyed it eloquently.
This is a lovely, compelling volume of poems straight from the soul that focus on love, lust, loneliness, isolation, and, in essence life. The author has done a beautiful job with expressing feelings and recognizing the emotions that accompany them. An excellent poetic voice and lovely read. I recommend highly.
I read a paperback copy of Holes in Space by Andrea Barbosa, and totally forgot to post a review until I saw this title fly past in an stream.
With this said, I don't read much poetry, however when I did begin reading this interesting compilation of poems, I remembered why poetry is so dear to my heart. I've got to get back into that habit.
Andrea Barbosa has an enriching writing style that zings into ones heart and soul, leaving us with a 'feel good' sense. This collection focuses on love and unusual journeys the human mind is taken on while in this delicious, stimulating state of emotions. With enchanting words dancing through a variety of original and intriguing verses, it like Forrest Gump's mother's advice about a box of chocolates. You never know what you'll get until you bite in. These stories are different yet exquisitely tasteful, leaving you warmly satisfied after each, and feeling emotionally happy when you finish.
Barbosa's poetic stanzas offers readers irresistible love scenes of varying rhythm, but I believe you too will get drawn in and lost within her lyrical metaphors and symbolism. If you haven't experienced poetry in a while, please grab this romantic, beautifully woven jewel of poems!
This was my first book by Andrea Barbosa and found it to be well written and very inspirational too. This book is written with passion and romance. I have lots of favorites. Here's one quote from the book
When Icarus desired to fly
he never dreamt of a Saturn V.
Majestic, it now extends, dead,
In Rocket Park, put to rest.
Reading Andrea Barbosa's poetry book felt at times like entering an enchanted garden. She makes us see the beauty of it all! I was impressed with the word choices and her deep reflections. I really enjoyed "the City Collection". I really wish there could have been more poems about different cities. Maybe in her next poetry book! Highly recommended.
I envy those who can craft their thoughts into lyrical lines that have such a profound effect on life. Andrea Barbosa is one of those crafters.
Within the pages of this short collection, you will even find beautiful photographs accompanying each poem. I enjoyed the book immensely and also have the paperback version. I've put in on the nightstand in one of my spare bedrooms for guests to enjoy.
My favorite poem in this collection is Life Dream....it's a beauty!
